Phew – What a scorcher!
This weekend has been the hottest of the year, and long overdue as far as this summer is concerned but this hot weather has also had it’s bearing on us at SFCakeCo HQ. We have had 2 chocolate birthday cakes to make… Chocolate and heat doesn’t mix that well! But never fear, it all worked out well in the end. Thanks to a fan indoors and air con in the car we managed to get them from Westcliff to Great Dunmow and Rayleigh intact.
So, here’s a tip. If you’re thinking of having your wedding breakfast in a marquee in the height of summer, a chocolate wedding cake wouldn’t be a great idea. The last thing you would want is a melting cake! Go for a wedding cake with icing. You could always have our rich chocolate cake inside…
