So, between Saturday June 17th and Saturday June 24th Sticky Fingers Cake Co delivered three wedding cakes to The Lawn, Rochford – www.thelawn.co.uk – a stunning Georgian manor house set in three acres of landscaped and beautifully kept gardens (ideal for those perfect wedding photos). Not only that but is also exclusively yours for the day which I think is one of the most important factors to consider when choosing your ideal venue. A family run business, they have been licensed to hold civil ceremonies for over sixteen years.

So first up was Debbie and Peter’s wedding on 17th June. They chose to have a 4 tier floral cascade wedding cake which was made up of traditional fruitcake, rich, dark chocolate and lovely lemony lemon cake, with the bottom tier being a dummy.

I spent many happy hours creating the intricate sugar flowers for this truly beautiful wedding cake which replicated Debbie’s bouquet – lots of pretty shades of pink sugar roses, cornflowers and a few hydrangea blossoms. Their beautiful centre pieces were provided by Courts of Rayleigh – www.rayleighflowers.co.uk – which again included lots of pink flowers.

The Orangery looked stunning! Many congratulations to both of you.

Our second wedding cake delivery of the week on Thursday 22nd June was for the lovely Hannah and Luke, the new Mr & Mrs Bakewell!

They chose to have a 4 tier naked wedding cake decorated with seasonal berries and a sprinkling of icing sugar, topped off with a cute bunting-style cake topper. Their flavours were salted caramel (the Groom’s favourite!), lovely lemony lemon cake, cookies & cream and finally, strawberry & Champagne. I’m happy to report that there was enough salted caramel left for Luke to have!

Congratulations guys, I hope you had an amazing day!

Finally, on 24th June we delivered and set up a cupcake tower for Julie and Colin who chose a truly stunning colour scheme and something really different – natural hessian, gold, cream and ivory.

They had 60 cupcakes and a 6” top cutting cake. The cutting cake was decorated with cream and gold sugar roses and gold lustred ivy leaves and finished off with a lovely hessian bow. The cupcakes were a mixture of domed style and buttercream swirls, all wrapped in gold shimmer cupcake wrappers. Their cupcake flavours were coffee, Madagascan vanilla, zesty orange and lovely lemony lemon, with the cutting cake also being lemon.

Many congratulations!

So there you have it, three wedding cake deliveries in a week, with three very different looks, to one of our favourite Essex wedding venues.

Just to say that Sticky Fingers Cake Co will be exhibiting at The Lawn at their late Summer Wedding fair on Sunday 24th September which we’re so looking forward to. See you there!

Happy baking!
